39 Teams 'til kickoff: Arkansas
[Editor's note: This series presents teams in order of the value each team would add to a conference hypothetical near the boarder of the criteria used by the BCS to determine future automatic qualifications. It is not a predictive measure of the 2010 season.]
As a fan of college football for less than 20 years, it is easy for my to disparage upon the Arkansas Razorbacks. There is a reason they were selected by the SEC when they expanded to 12 in the early 90's, a move that Arkansas has not been able to keep pace with.
Prior to that move Arkansas had 30 years of success and rose from obscurity to national prominence, largely due to Frank Broyles. Lou Holtz made a career stop here on his way to fame at Notre Dame. (Before pursuing his current career at ESPN.)
That said, 9th in the SEC is good enough to be in the top third of the FBS.
Head Coach: Bobby Petrino (Third Year)
Offensive Coordinator: Garrick McGee (First Year, Third at Arkansas)
Defensive Coordinator: Willy Robinson (Third year)

I am starting to see why Arkansas is starting to get some hype. I am not sure I buy it yet.

The LSU game could be for the chance to break into the final BCS standings for the first time since 2006.
