Dominoes: MAC Edition

The MAC has been mentioned once or twice as possible targets, especially for Big East or C-USA replacement options. The likelihood of this is slim as, frankly, the MAC has suffered lately in the performance of its marque teams.

With an unbalanced division structure the MAC would be well off to lose a member and would not be compelled to find a replacement. The chances of losing more than one are extremely remote.

All in all the MAC is sitting solid for the next round of expansions.

At least as solid as they are now. The real focus here needs to be winning with what you have now.

The question is whether

Temple wants to go in with all sports or not.

Also hearing Western Kentucky as a possible addition.

I still have a tough time seeing Temple as a MAC school to begin with

So much is going to depend which markets shift.

Buffalo and Temple are both TV markets that would be nice for a conference to have (Philly is huge and Buffalo is in the top 50) If Syracuse goes to the Big 1? than Buffalo might look good to the Big East (academically it’s on par or better than most BE members) if Pitt goes to the Big 1? then Temple will look really good to the Big East (keeping a foot in PA).
