2010 Alamo Bowl - Michigan St. vs. Texas Tech
January 2nd 2010, 9 ET ESPN.
Just in case you missed it, Mike Leach has been fired and will not make the trip to San Antonio to coach in this year's Alamo Bowl. This will be the 17th Alamo bowl and the first after the New Year. Which neither team has won. The Michigan St. Spartans only try was in 2003 while the Texas Tech Red Raiders missed opportunities in 2001 and 2006.
These programs have never meet on the gridiron. Who will win the first game in this series?

Other than the off field distractions this looks good for Texas Tech.

Nothing really jumps out at me here. Two solid programs that should meat in the middle.

| Michigan St. Defense |

| Points | 25.08 | 36.7 |

Texas Tech's running game should be non existent, but that is part of their plan anyways. Again statistically very similar.
Prediction
Texas Tech's one sided offense should be able to win with a few long quick strikes.

Coach or no coach, Michigan State is bad.
Texas Tech should win this one. How did a 6-6 Spartan team make a January bowl again??
