Adding a 12 will hurt Big 10 in BCS?
Does anyone else think that adding an additional team will hurt the Big 10's chances in the BCS? They've seemingly sent 2 teams fairly consistently, If this year's top 2 teams, Iowa and Ohio State, matched up (again) in a championship game, would both of them have made a BCS game?
Anyways, if you'd care to take a look at the campuses/venues/traditions that you could be traveling to over the next few years, here's a recap of my fall traveling "big 10 country" from the average joe perspective:

Probably not...
… but Penn State would have. I doubt expanding to 12 would hurt the Big Ten’s chances of getting two teams in; it has never hurt the Big 12 or SEC.
The last few years, assuming geographically sane divisions rather than some contrived arrangement to keep PSU, Michigan, and Ohio State from all being in the same division, play out like so (assuming records are no different on a divisional schedule) …
2009: Title game 10-2 (7-1 Big Ten) Ohio State v. 10-2 (6-2) Iowa; best other team is 10-2 (6-2) Penn State.
2008: Title: 11-1 (7-1) Penn State v. 9-4 (5-3) Northwestern; Other: 10-2 (7-1) Ohio State
2007: Title: 11-1 (7-1) Ohio State v. 9-4 (5-3) Wisconsin; Other: 9-3 (5-3) Illinois
2006: Title: 12-0 (8-0) Ohio State v. 11-1 (7-1) Wisconsin; Other: 11-1 (7-1) Michigan
2005: Title: 10-1 (7-1) Penn State v. 9-3 (5-3) Wisconsin; Other: 9-2 (7-1) Ohio State
2004: Title: 9-2 (7-1) Iowa v. 9-2 (7-1) Michigan; Other: 9-2 (6-2) Wisconsin
2003: Title: 10-2 (7-1) Michigan v. 9-3 (5-3) Iowa; Other: 10-2 (6-2) Ohio State
2002: Title: 13-0 (8-0) Ohio State v. 11-1 (8-0) Iowa; Other: 9-3 (6-2) Michigan
