So what I really want to know is ...
1) Is it better in the BCS to schedule up or down for those early OOC games? Texas and Oklahoma as examples.
BCS stinks, but some coaches have games within the system - Sacramento Opinion - Sacramento Editorial | Sacramento Bee
2) Will the Big 12 have a second team eligible this year? Likely not.
Big 12 likely to produce only one BCS team - College Football Nation - ESPN
3) Will President Obama direct the DOJ to answer Hatch's urgings to join Utah AG Mark Shurtleff in his anti-trust investigation? Wasn't that a campaign promise?
The Associated Press: Hatch urges Obama to investigate college's BCS
4) Who wants the permanent job defending the BCS? Former Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese is suggested as a possibility. So is your worst enemy.
5) What do people really want for the post-season?
I know what I want to see. Maybe I am on the fringe of public opinion.
Ok, I am on the fringe of the public PERIOD, and have a solid opinion. Maybe I want to know what normal is, even if I don't want to be normal. It's good to know at least what direction it is from where you are.
This poll is entirely scientific and its results can be quoted in any context without reservation.

If Texas loses the Big XII championsip game (unlikely) there could be two Big XII teams in the BCS.

I would say their would be.
Also, If Oklahoma State can keep Texas from covering and win their other games they would be ranked also.

How bout a 16 team tournment
each conference winner would get a automatic bid and nine Wild Card team you could say first round would be at the higher seeded teams home stadium after that you go to some of the bowl locations NC game played at the BCS bowl sites in a rotating fashion (one year the rose bowl next in south Florida for the orange bowl you get the point) I think it would work and temas that aren’t in the tournment could still play bowl games but it would be like the NIT and not affect the NC tournment. I think it would work
"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature. The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."

Not sure I get the math.
Last time I checked there were 11 BCS conferences. At least there are 11 conferences that have signed the BCS contracts to make thier teams eligible for selection, making 11 champions and 5 at-large spots. Making a requirement that a conference champion they must get into the final BCS top 25 would make 8 or 9 confernece champions and 7 at -large bids.
I would think the first two rounds would need to be home games and the final two neutral site games. Timing for the four rounds would be problematic. Three rounds fit nicely into the existing bowl window with New Year’s Day being the semifinals and/or BCS bowls.

I like the NIT analogy for the bowls.
I will be assesing the merit of the 16 team tournament in the offseason, along with other popular alternatives. I want 2-8 teams depending on how many teams merit inclusion each year.
I did not mean to be overly critical of your concept. That just kind of happens sometimes when I am around numbers.
In a field of 16 one would have four rounds. If this was approved, I would recommend making the first two round hosted by the favored team and the final four be neutral site games. More than 2 neutral site games would be cost prohibitive for the typical traveling fans.

I understand but I think 16 would be a more equal type
with 16 you can in theory get more non-bcs school a chance other than the conference champs, but also in theory I can blow smoke out my ass in reality I can’t

I like the idea of a field of 16
Allowing all conference champions (or highest ranked co-champions) with 9 wins or in the top 25 to participate.
Two issues would need to be answered to make this happen:
- When do you play the four rounds, as the NCAA has stated the current postseason limit of the second Monday in January is not getting pushed further into January.
- How do you justify allowing amateur athletes to play 17 (or even 18 if a team travels to Hawaii and participates in a conference championship game) games in the division with the largest catastrophic injury rate, when the lower divisions allow at most 16 games? (Or convince the teams to agree to shorten the season by a game)

As a Gator,
the current BCS system helps us immensely. Any of the top 5 or 6 programs generally get in the game. But I think the system is bullshit. I love the idea of an 8-16 team playoff tournament.
Some argue that if there was a playoff, all the meaning would be taken out of the regular season games. I call baloney on that. You still have to win your conference or at least have a baller record in order to get a wild card spot. This needs to happen.

if the big twelve only gets one bid. boise state(they are going to go 13-0) and a one loss mwc team could get in
houston would have a chance too if they run the table at 12-1. conf. usa has a cg. they do have three bcs wins. i rather tcu just go undefeated but if they don’t i want utah to be the team from the mtn west. as they say it’s better to lose early than late.

I don't really see two outsiders this year.
The SEC, ACC, PAC 10 and Big 10 are all in position to claim the final three at-large berths. A second team from one of these conferences would go in before a second team from any conference without an automatic qualification.

only sec is definite for 2 bids. pac-ten are you thinking oregon. look at the remaining schedule,
other than washington this week all ther teams have winning records. they are going to lose two more. big ten i think iowa will go undefeated. that gives osu three loses and i expect penn state to lose to osu and maybe michigan this week. penn state has the weakest resume of anybody in top 14 teams. there wins are against awful teams except the gophers and they are mid level big ten team. acc. could implode this week as well. clemson could beat miami and virginia for the last two years has had these late season surges. they could upset gt. then the acc is fu-ked. also, with the acc they could have a 4 loss team in the cg from one of their divisions. you must see the possibilities for these conferences while i see the downside and it’s only the 8th week. these are just my opinions. i like most of what you say. peace.
